Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria
Stayed: Sunday, 29 April 2018
Cost per Night: £23.00
A short distance from the centre of Kirkby Lonsdale and set on a hill, Woodclose Park is a mix of static mobile homes, holiday caravan, some pods and an area for touring.
The tour site is gravel and almost but not quite level. Each pitch has its own water supply, grey waste and electric hook-up. No real views from the touring pitches, although most come with a grass area offering some space to spread.
Strong wi-fi is available, but at an extra cost. I assume this is to prevent the full-time residents on the park pinching all the bandwidth. I chose not to use it.
There is a shop on the site, with basic supplies and both Calor and Campingaz exchange. There is a decking area with some tables and chairs if you fancy a coffee, but that is about all that is available.
In the main block, you’ll find toilets and some excellent individual showers, along with recycling points for glass, plastics and tins.
On arrival, which was welcoming and friendly, a smart pack of information is provided. While this may be appreciated by those staying in the park homes; for a single night stay, I’d rather have a pound knocked off the price.
The site is a few minutes walk from the Devil’s Bridge.
