The Boathouse
Glencaple

A Brit Visited: Sunday 13 May 2018

More of a pace for eating than a tea shop, but The Boathouse is in a beautiful setting.
On the River Nith in the village of Glencaple, The Boathouse serves a range of sandwiches and butties, through to pancakes and a selection of cakes.
The tea is Teapigs, which personally I don’t like that much. It isn’t a top rated brand.

Prices are fair, however it is the setting that makes the place.

The building is modern but in keeping with the surroundings. The outside deck and full height windows give a great view of the river, with some bird life and today, a heron passed by.

There is parking and it is a popular spot for motor homes to stay overnight for a voluntary donation.
